“Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.” ― Marcus Aurelius
The students of Class III participated in a Constellation making activity. With the guidance of their teachers, they made four constellations that can be seen in the night sky. They used black chart paper to represent the night sky and glitter and white poster colours to represent stars. With the help of these materials, they made some constellations. They learnt that constellations are a group of stars, when joined together with imaginary lines, look like animals or mythological people.
They learnt about Orion-The Hunter; The stars when joined together look like a hunter wearing a tunic and a belt holding a bow in one hand with his other hand raised. Also, about Ursa Major; which is a group of seven stars which when joined together looks like a question mark. They also represent the seven great hermits from Indian Mythology.
The students took a lot of interest in the activity and their constellations looked real and beautiful. They asked numerous questions about the movement of constellations and shared some facts that they were aware of on their own as well. The session was a huge success.
