“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.” – Maria Montessori

Education in today’s scenario aims at the holistic development of children which can only be achieved through a pragmatic approach to education. Pragmatic approach imparts learning by doing and experiencing things. Exhibitions, projects, presentations, etc are the mediums of wholesome development of the students in schools. Such exhibitions enhance the student’s knowledge and make learning a fun experience.

The students of Class I, II and III were filled with excitement as the members of Radio Orange Club, RJ Arindita and RJ Teisha announced about the grand exhibition of the Excelomatics Club and the Spectrum Club held in the SAI Angan Atrium. Students presented some well-prepared projects in Science and Maths.

Some of the Maths projects were amazing models on various topics like creative elimination, maps with images, butterfly method for adding and subtracting fractions, to reveal one’s age by choosing a number, multiplying by 9 using hands, 3-D Shapes Properties and some puzzle games. Few of the Science projects included the working of windmill, making homemade paper bag, life cycle of a butterfly, model of lunar and solar eclipse, slime seed germination, volcanic eruptions and many more.

Students enjoyed learning through such exhibition and felt a sense of belongingness as they made the models with their own hands. It was indeed an exhibition which gave them exposure and confidence to present their thoughts and ideas. Such exhibitions develop spirit and curiosity in a student which in turn forces them to think and creatively find solutions to the challenges.
