Money is used for buying different things such as food, clothes, toys or vehicles etc. Money is also used to get service from experts, like doctors, carpenters, farmers etc. Coins and notes are used as physical money. They come in different denominations.
Students of Class I participated in an activity where classroom was transformed into a marketplace with the help of different items like chocolates, vegetables, toys, pencil boxes etc. Few students enacted the role of cashier, shopkeeper and customers and played the game of buyer and seller. They bought and sold different items by paying different coins and currency notes. Students also learned the concept of addition and subtraction through this activity. The students enjoyed a lot and actively participated in the group activity. This interactive teaching learning process helped the students in developing their logical, naturalistic, linguistic and visual skills.
