“Pure water is the World’s first and foremost medicine.” – Slovakian Proverb

Water is vital for life as it supports plants, animals and human beings. So, everyone should have knowledge about where and how the water comes. As Rain water is the purest form of water, children of KG I learnt about the story of rainfall during a classroom activity.

Children were divided into two groups, where one group did the role play and another group enjoyed watching and learning it. The first group who did the role play wearing the head gear of blue and grey clouds, vapours, water droplets and one of them was even dressed as the mighty sun. Through the role play, the teacher explained the causes of rainfall.

The learning became more impactful through a poster on the wall and a floor painting, depicting the complete process of rainfall. The teacher explained that in summer the sun is very bright and sunny which makes everyone feel hot. The water in rivers and lakes also becomes hot and turn into water vapour. As the water vapour rises, it gets collected and form the cloud. As more and more clouds join, the blue cloud becomes heavy laden with moisture and turns grey. Them it starts falling down un form of water droplets.

This activity and role play helped the children to enhance their interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic, visual, linguistic and logical skills.
