Class 3 children learnt the lesson “Word Problems” through activities on July 24, 2019.  The activities were based on different real life situations like distance covered, age difference, different objects and money. Children were asked to choose one chit out of those categories. Then the situation based questions were solved by the children in the given chart papers. The different steps of word problem were categorized by the children.

They were able to identify the type of operations based on the situations and concluded the final statements. While doing this activity, they learnt to read the problem, plug in numbers in place of words wherever possible to set up a regular math equation. They learnt to think visually and proceed logically in order to find the solution which develops their Higher order thinking and critical thinking skills.
