Spectrum Club – The Screaming balloon

“Learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience.” – David. A. Kolb

It is said that empty vessels make the most noise but it is not in case of a balloon. A balloon makes a sound when we put any coin or nut inside a balloon and we call it a ‘screaming balloon’. The children of Spectrum Club of Class I did the activity of making a screaming balloon. They did the activity using a balloon and a coin and observed that when they swirled the balloon it made some noise.

The sound was concluded to have been caused by vibrations. When the rubber of the balloon vibrates, the air inside the balloon vibrates as well and the air around the balloon also vibrates which produces the sound. All the students enjoyed this experimentation thoroughly giving them space to grow their curiosity and intuitive mind. It was indeed a fun and exciting session as it is always an out of the world experience to learn something new while experiencing it.
