Puzzles are attractive games that help to exercise the mind and challenge the thought-process of a child. These important educational tools help in improving a child’s logical and analytical skills and develop in them a greater interest for learning. It also enables children to recognize different colors, shapes and sizes and develops creativity as children try to apply their intelligence in a bid to join the scattered pieces. The children of KG-I were given four different sets of puzzles made with the help of paper plates. They had a brilliant time sorting the puzzles happily. They were able to count the pieces perfectly. It was a great sight to see their elated faces as they finished solving them.Completing even a small and simple puzzle involves thinking and developing ways on how to achieve it. This builds skills like problem solving and reasoning in children. These educational toys also promote cooperative play where children discuss with each other and work together to join the puzzles as well as share the joy of achievement. It also does wonders to hand-eye co-ordination and helps refine their fine motor skill. These are also simple and enjoyable ways to practice their mathematical skills.
