“Mathematics is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human spirit.” – Stefan Banach
Mathematics is a fascinating subject. It is a tool used in everyday life to sort, count, measure and analyse. For the kindergarteners the mathematical concept includes numbers, patterns and shapes.
Learning shapes is one of the goals of the pre-school curriculum as it sets their understanding of the two-dimensional structures. Shapes help children with a range of important skills including improved communication, greater creative skills, sorting objects, pre-reading and writing skills.
The students of Play Group were introduced to the shape circle through some activities like making roti out of play dough, colouring the circle smiley, walking in circle by holding each other. Through this, children got to know about the shape circle.
