“Nature is a tool to get children to experience not just the wider world, but themselves.” – Stephen Moss
At SAI Angan, our Nursery students recently embarked on an exciting journey exploring the wonders of seed germination through hands-on learning. This engaging activity began with a presentation and video introducing the concept of how seeds transform into plants.
Armed with newfound knowledge, the young SAIoneers enthusiastically planted seeds in cups filled with soil. These cups were then placed under sunlight, where the students observed and watered them daily. Through this immersive experience, they witnessed firsthand the magic of growth as tiny seeds sprouted into seedlings.
This activity was not only educational but also played a significant role in enhancing the students’ fine motor, visual, interpersonal, and intrapersonal skills. By engaging in the process of planting and nurturing, the children developed a deeper appreciation for nature and a sense of responsibility for the environment.
The joy and excitement on the students’ faces as they watched their plants grow were truly heartwarming. This experience fostered a love for nature and a curiosity about the world around them, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and environmental stewardship.
