“Summer camp is a community where children come together to have fun while learning lifelong lessons.” – Anonymous
The e-Summer Camp of SAI International is being held from June 1 to 14, 2020, to provide students an immersive learning experience. Age-appropriate activities are designed, keeping in view students’ interest level and aptitude for learning.
On day 1, the adorable kids of KG I made a colourful paper collage of spinning tops with their tiny fingers. They cut papers from magazines, old notebooks and newspapers to make their creation a special one. The little ones also learnt the steps of Zumba and were briefed about its importance. Their family members also joined the activity, making it all the more energetic.
The Kindergartners had an amazing time on the day II of the e-Summer Camp. They sat engrossed listening to the story of a hungry caterpillar and also learnt to make puppets of some of the characters from the story, in three different ways. On the 3rd day, the participants sang a lyrical hindi song, thoroughly enjoying it by clapping their hands all the time. Next, they sat down to draw and paint some amusing cartoon characters.
The little Master Chefs were ready with their ingredients to follow SAIoneer Divya Ashish of Class XI in making a tasty bread chaat on day 4 of the camp. Following that, SAIonner Prateek of Class IX taught them how to make the favourite food of Chota Bheem – ladoo and that too a chocolate ladoo. He also demonstrated how to make a chilled lassi. Next they went on to make stick masks and their happiness knew no bounds when they made masks of their favourite cartoon characters.
On the 5th day, the students were all geared up to learn the steps of folk dance, with some of them attired in traditional clothes. Next was a session on story telling where children loved to hear two interesting tales, one on how spiders got their long thin legs and another on how tigers got their stripes. The resource person narrated the stories with finger puppets and many more props.
Students are having a fun-filled and energetic time in the innovative e-Summer Camp, the first of its kind in Odisha. The fun continues…..
