“Mythology is not a lie, mythology is poetry, it is metaphorical. It has been well said that mythology is the penultimate truth–penultimate because the ultimate cannot be put into words.” – Joseph Campbell
During the Mask club, the students of Class I, II and III showcased their talent by acting as some of the interesting characters from Indian mythology. Children performed as various characters such as Lord Krishna, Radha, Sita Mata, Hanuman, Maa Saraswati etc. The children gave a series of mesmerising performances with beautiful get up which added glamour to their performances. They put great effort by putting their small feet into the shoe of acting through their Mask Club session.
They delivered dialogues with facial expressions and body movements like the characters themselves. They were also shown videos of some characters to learn the basic elements that are needed to play a character. Children learnt and developed various acting skills for playing different types of dramatic personas. It was an absolute feast for the eyes watching them perform without any inhibition.
