Children learn about the world around them through their senses. At the Kindergarten levels, children have the comprehension, vocabulary and ability to learn even more through their senses. Planning a lesson for the five senses is a lot of fun. The children of KG I were introduced to the sense of sight and hearing through different activities. They were given a wide range of objects which is used in our daily lives to see through such as sunglasses, binocular, magnifying glass and the some interesting different coloured glasses. With the help of these things they were able to learn about the sense of sight. In the same way, to enhance and explore their knowledge about hearing to different sounds, the children were allowed to use different objects for example: bell, sound boxes, rattle, shell and tambourine. Practically using these objects and listening to different sounds coming out of it was really exciting. Some of the children were able to correlate these objects with their personal experiences. Overall, it was a wonderful activity exploring and learning new things in a play-way method.
