IIM CASE STUDY

Learning Possessive Noun

The students of Class-II learnt the concept of possessive nouns through a fun filled activity, called “BINGO”. The main objective of the activity was to help students to differentiate between singular and plural possessive nouns and identify them in sentences. They also learnt the use of apostrophe (s). The students were very excited as the teacher explained the activity and the rules. The class was divided into groups and each group got a paper chit with a sentence written on it. One group was asked to read out their sentence while the other groups listened to the sentence carefully. The group which had the sentence with same meaning would say “BINGO” and read their sentence. During the activity, students could explain and identify the sentences with the possessive noun. At the end of the activity, the students were able to identify possessive nouns in sentences and differentiate between singular and plural possessive nouns. Activities are always fun and help in joyful learning and better assimilation of knowledge.
