Students of Class II did an activity of picture sequencing by putting the events in a logical order. They were given a set of cards with sequencing pictures representing common daily routines. First, they were asked to work in groups and write down the ordering words (first, then, next, after that, finally) on those cut outs. This was done to determine if the children understood the concept of sequencing. After that, they were asked to paste all the pictures as per the three main events (beginning, middle and end). The children were very excited to work in groups. Finally, each group displayed its full-fledged work in front of the class and described the events. This was followed by re-telling the story “The caged lion and the dog” by using the order words. Knowing and understanding the importance of order of events is very crucial as it helps children to deepen comprehension.
