IIM CASE STUDY

Learning Digraph sh

The children of KG-II learnt about digraph ‘sh’ through a highly interactive classroom activity. The teacher read the story “Shaun and his ship” to the children emphasizing on the sh sound words. Later the class were asked to name at least one sh word from the story. The children were given flash cards of sh words and asked to blend them.

Another fun-filled activity followed where some identical sounding words like ship – sip, sell – shell,  sop-shop were written on the floor and the children were asked to listen to the words carefully and jump on the correct sh sound words. Then they were asked to write some of the sh words on the board. These activities helped to develop their linguistic, interpersonal, intrapersonal and kinesthetic skills.
