India is a vast country with the 7th largest land area in the world. It also has the 2nd largest population and has as many as 29 States mainly based on linguistic lines. The Capital of this beautiful, vast and diversified land is New Delhi. Some of the other important Cities include Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad etc.
Students of Class III learnt about the Important Cities of the Country with the help of text books and a vivid power point presentation. Through an interesting activity, they learnt about the locations of the Cities. During the activity, the Class was divided into groups of 5 to 6 students each and few cut-outs of different monuments were given to each group along with the outline of the map of India.
Students coloured the respective States and marked the location of the important Cities as instructed. They identified the monuments, coloured them and pasted them close to the marked Cities. This activity not only confirmed the theoretical knowledge of students but also helped them to find out the geographical location of the cities in the map of India.
