Importance of Animals

Look at animals kindly, and they will see. Talk to animals gently, and they will listen. – A.D. Williams

Animals are the gift of nature to us and play a very important role in our life. They are our companions, our workers, care givers, source of livelihood, source of food and many more.

The children of KG-II learnt about the importance of animals and the difference between Wild and Domestic animals through several activities. The Class was divided into two groups and the children were given some toy animals. One group was instructed to make a forest for wild animals and the other group was asked to make a farm for domestic animals. The class learnt that wild animals live in forest and the animals who live with human and trained for the human use are called domestic animals.

From the activity, they learnt that the forest is the habitat of wild animals and our home and its surroundings are the habitat of domestic animals. Children also recited a rhyme on an important wild animal, Elephant and discussed about its habitat, food etc. These activities enhanced their naturalistic, linguistic, visual and inter personal skills.
