“Sports not only build better athletes but also better people”.  _ Julie Foudy

A sport involves physical activity and skills. Even though there are a lot of e-sports competitions, playing video games still is not a sport. With the development of competitive gaming & global competitions that promise millions in cash prizes, many are debating if video games should be classified as a sport. Traditional sports enthusiasts will completely deny the idea, as video games lack the typical physical element that defines most sports.

In support of the topic, video games take co- ordination, training and are very taxing on the mind. Video games require attention, focus and very fast reflexes. Even though it is not a physical activity, but an electronic game requires lot of energy to play. One of the reasons why video games should be considered a sport is the fact that it is incredibly competitive.

So, thereby many reasons came up against the topic that video games shouldn’t be considered a sport because if video games would be considered a sport, so one should play chess and similar games. The prime reason was it is not a physical sport as it does not involve any physical activity.

The students had a wonderful time today in sharing their experiences regarding the exciting topic on video games in the Ignited Minds club, as they love debating on sports.
