“The first rule of courtesy is to have a good handwriting” – Anonymous
Handwriting is an imprint of self on paper. The more legible one’s writing is, the clearer the communication becomes. As technology seems to have replaced the thumb, it has become the need of the moment to make students develop their handwriting skills.
The students of Class III participated in a virtual handwriting activity. A paragraph was shared on-screen on the spot and the time limit was 45 minutes. The students used single-ruled copy to copy down the paragraph which was a moral story about good company and bad company. The kids were told to choose either cursive or print letters to write down the paragraph.
The online activity was conducted under the supervision of the class teachers. Neat and legible handwriting was encouraged during the activity. The students did a great job with the writing. As expected they wrote legibly and beautifully as well as finished on time. The kids enjoyed it immensely. It was a pleasure to see that even during the pandemic when children do not get much to write, they have kept their practice of handwriting intact.
