“Green is the prime colour of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.” – Pedro Calderon de la Barca
Since the beginning of mankind, trees have played a crucial role. They are one of the greatest things that connects human beings across the globe. Its importance can be traced back to each single culture or civilization that lived on this earth. It symbolizes life, growth, peace and nature.
Trees provide us with many benefits necessary for survival, including clean air, shade, food and several other things that we use every day. To help the students of KG I understand the importance of trees, few activities were conducted. Through a power point presentation, students were introduced to various parts of the trees as well as briefed on the different things we get from each part like paper, rubber etc.
Students also learnt about leaf printing through an activity. They enjoyed the activity that showed the use of different leaves like making whistles out of banana leaves and hair and hand mehendi out of Henna leaves. These activities helped the students to develop their visual, linguistic, inter and intra personal, kinesthetic and naturalistic skills.
