Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is a hindu festival celebrated on the birthday of Lord Ganesha, also known as Vinayak, the elephant headed God. He is worshipped before all other Gods in the Hindu religion. Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. According to the Hindu calender, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the shukla chaturthi.

To make the Playgroup children aware about the importance of the day, Ganesh Chaturthi, was celebrated. A song, ‘Shankar ka dhol baje’ was shown to the little ones. They also made small idols of Lord Ganesh as well as modaks out of dough. This activity enhanced their fine motor, naturalistic, inter and intra personal skills.
