IIM CASE STUDY

Feed the Rabbit

An interesting activity for the students of Play Group was conducted where small rubber carrots and a pair of tweezers were provided to feed the rabbit. The little ones had to pick up the carrots with the help of tweezers and place them in the rabbit’s mouth.

The students held the tweezers with one hand so that the index finger is on one side and the thumb on the other; the other fingers were gently curled into the palm. The precision of execution of work was worth admiring. Learning and practicing the use of tweezers enhanced their fine motor skills.

These skills are extremely important as it lays the foundation children need before they learn handwriting in order to have a proper grasp and control of a writing instrument. This activity enhanced their fine motor, eye and hand coordination skills.
