IIM CASE STUDY

Face value and Place value

The students of Class -III learnt about “Face value and Place value” through definitions, examples and activities. As part of the activity, each of them picked up a card from the box and read the numbers independently. Next, they identified the Place value and Face value of each digit from the number card. From this activity, they understood that a number is formed by grouping the digits together and each digit in a number has face value and place value. Children learnt how to find the place and face value of a specific digit. At the end they were able to understand the face and place value of each digit in a four digit number. This interactive activity also helps in developing skills like critical thinking, problem solving and analytical.
