‘Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.’ – Albert Einstein
The Class I members of the Excelomatics club had an array of activities during their weekly club classes. On Saturday, July 25, 2020, students prepared a subtraction chart, where they presented several facts on subtraction.
The chart was in the form of a number grid in which the top horizontal row is the minuend and the left vertical row is the subtrahend. We subtract subtrahend from minuend and the answer is called a difference. The students subtracted the numbers and completed the grid. This subtraction chart is another form of mental maths.
During the activity class on Saturday, August 1, 2020, the children prepared a clown’s face using 3-d shapes like cones and spheres. This helped the members to explore and relate 3-D shapes with everyday objects.
Mathematics plays a crucial role in the development of a child. It sets the building blocks for the entire academic career. At SAI Angan students are encouraged and inspired to learn mathematics through a play way method.
