Dussehra Festivities: Where Tradition Meets Eco-consciousness

“Dussehra teaches us that no matter how formidable the evil, it can be conquered through the power of righteousness and courage.”Anonymous

In the heart of SAI Angan, where education meets values and tradition harmoniously, Dussehra recently unfolded with a remarkable focus on eco-friendly practices and cultural richness. The young SAIoneers, representing various classes, came together to illuminate the essence of both environmental consciousness and festive spirit.

Homage to Goddess Durga Through Eco-Friendly Artistry

The students of Class II set the tone for a distinctive celebration by crafting cards that served as a unique tribute to Goddess Durga. What set these creations apart was their eco-friendly nature. Leaves, organic colors, and rice grains were skillfully incorporated into the designs, intertwining their homage to the goddess with a deep respect for the environment. This delightful activity not only showcased their enthusiasm but also marked their dedication to ensuring sustainable and joyful Durga Puja celebrations in the future.

Celebrating Heritage and Triumph Over Evil

The younger learners, from Playgroup to KG-II, hosted a special assembly that was a feast for the senses, dedicated to celebrating our heritage and traditions. Through an enchanting skit, they celebrated feminine shakti, symbolizing the power of goodness triumphing over evil. To drive home the message of sustainable celebrations, the children created door hanging decorations using organic colors derived from grains, lentils, and turmeric. These eco-friendly creations served as a compelling reminder to adopt sustainable and joyful ways of celebrating Dussehra, promoting happiness and unity within the community.

Blossoming Creativity

With the advent of Navratri, Class-II students let their creativity shine as they crafted exquisite dandiya sticks using readily available materials. These handmade dandiya sticks were adorned with beads and colorful paper, fostering creativity and imparting valuable group collaboration skills to the young champs.

Nurturing Tradition & Environment

Class-I SAIoneers rejoiced in both dandiya festivities and creative expression, crafting eco-friendly Dussehra cards. These activities reinforced the timeless message of good prevailing over evil. Prayers were offered to Goddess Durga for the well-being and prosperity of the little ones and their families, ensuring a radiant and promising future.

Green & Glorious Celebrations

Amidst the rhythmic beats of drums, fragrant incense, and ornate pandals, Class III SAIoneers engaged in an eco-friendly Durga Puja activity. They emphasized that a celebration’s true grandeur lies in leaving behind memories, not waste, and nurturing love for the environment. This activity showcased the children’s dedication to sustainability, promoting social skills and embodying the ethos of the Leader In Me Habit of “Sharpening the Saw.”

A Brighter and More Sustainable Future

The Dussehra celebrations at SAI Angan stand as a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also values that promote environmental consciousness and cultural preservation. It is heartening to see young SAIoneers embrace these principles with enthusiasm and creativity, ensuring a brighter and more sustainable future. SAI Angan’s Dussehra celebrations truly exemplify the school’s holistic approach to education, enriching young minds in an environment that values both tradition and the planet we call home.
