Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami is the celebration of the triumph of the good over the evil. It is celebrated on the 10th day of the month of Ashvina as per the Hindu calendar. The festival is celebrated to honour the slaying of the demon Ravan by lord Rama. Dussehra is also considered to be a very auspicious day it heralds a new beginning.
Since the day is so significant, it becomes imperative for children to learn about its importance by celebrating it in the school. Students of Play Group celebrated Dussehra by learning all about Goddess Durga. They performed Dandi dance and also made cards. All these activities enhanced their gross motor, kinesthetic and fine motor skill.
May this Dussehra, light up for you, fulfils all your dreams and give you a year full of smiles!
