IIM CASE STUDY

Division – a Equal Sharing

“Mathematics is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human spirit.” – Stefan Banach

Sharing is caring. The little butterflies of SAI Angan have a good practice of sharing things equally among them. Students of Class II have started a familiar topic of sharing their things equally in groups, making it easy for them to understand the concept of division and practice it in their daily lives.

Many different items were present in the room to be shared. An activity was conducted in which the students were divided in to smaller groups.  The children were very excited when they were asked to share things in group equally with their friends. The students first counted the number of each item and then decided how to distribute those equally among their peer groups. The activity reinforced their understanding on the importance of equal sharing and also how to write a division sentence for it.
