Activities always provide opportunities for students to get a better conceptual clarity on a subject. One such activity was conducted for students of Class III, where they learnt about comparative and superlative form of adjective, which is best learnt through examples.
It started with the teacher refreshing the memory of the young ones on what is adjective. She gave live examples by comparing the heights of the students present there like – Riya is “taller” than Meera but Maya is the “tallest” of all. Many more similar examples were also discussed.
This was followed by another interesting activity with flash cards and sketch pens. Students were divided into groups of three each and each group was asked to write an adjective of their choice and then make its comparative and superlative form. After writing, each group was asked to come in front of the class and arrange themselves according to the correct order of adjective and its forms. Each group was able to perform the activity flawlessly. The activity was a great fun for the kids as they enjoyed as well as understood the concept clearly that comparative form is used to compare two objects and superlative form is used to compare more than two objects.
