An assembly is when the class meets together to share some important aspects of life. It acts as a medium for communicating matters of significance. The students of KG I conducted an assembly starting with a prayer, word of the week, moral thought and ended it with the National Anthem.
It started with the prayer, ”Where the Mind is without Fear” written by Nobel laureate Shri Rabindranath Tagore. It was conducted in the morning as soon as the students reached the class. This is done every day to induce the spirit of discipline and enable the students to start the day on a positive note.
It was followed by the introduction of a new word to the students along with the meaning. This is to ensure that students not only learn the word but also understand the meaning. This adds another word to their vocabulary and help them to communicate better.
Then, students get to listen to a moral thought with its meaning, to help them distinguish between good and bad as they grow up in life and widen their horizon. This was followed by the national anthem ”Jana Gana Mana….”.
After the assembly it was time for some exercise like jogging, sit ups, hand movements and leg movements which will help them to increase their stamina and improve their memory. It also teaches them the benefits of daily exercise.
Morning Assembly develops the leadership qualities within the students. It also increases the Linguistic, Logical, Naturalistic, Visual, Inter-personal and Intra-personal skills in them.
