Students of Class-II were introduced to one of the basic component of life i.e., Air. They learnt about the importance of Air and its necessity for survival. Various activities were conducted to help the students understand the properties of Air.
First a real-life activity was demonstrated by switching off all the fans and switching it on again. They were asked to watch the difference. Students could feel the presence of air. In the second activity, bits of paper and balloon were given to the students to blow. When they blew air on the paper it began to move, which helped them understand that ‘Air can move things’. They then started to blow air to fill the balloons. Gradually the balloons took a shape. Student understood that ‘Air can change the shape of things.’
In the next activity, strips of paper were given to the students and they were asked to blow air to it with different intensity. Students learnt about various types of Air like Wind, Breeze, Gale and Storm through this activity. At the end students were able to explain the importance of air and differentiate the various types of air. These activities helped them to develop their naturalistic skill among others.
