“The study of mathematics, like the Nile, begins in minuteness but ends in magnificence.” – Charles Caleb Colton1
Excelomatics Club develops children’s knowledge and understanding of maths.
It provides children with opportunities to try new things. It also helps children apply their maths skills to other ‘real-life’ maths investigations.
During the club class, SAIoneers of Class I enjoyed making a robot in their square maths copy. They used the square units to make the art. This activity develops concentration and also improves hand-eye coordination. They were delighted to see the outcome.
SAIoneers of Class II made a koala origami. Origami is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with Japanese culture. This makes the child more creative and innovative. First hand investigation, with real-life mathematics quite successful for all learners.
