IIM CASE STUDY

Sensory Exploration

Sensory exploration is one of the most interesting ways for the students to learn. From the five sense organs, skin is the most important sense organ. It covers our whole body and senses how things feel by touching as well as acts as a protective barrier. Students of KG II were explained how skin plays an important role in our life to feel the textures around us. Students were made to touch soft, hard, rough and smooth textures to differentiate the various textures. They did activities with ribbon (smooth), ice cream stick (rough) , cotton (soft) and googly eyes (hard), to understand the concept in a better way. Exploring the sense of touch through textures help built knowledge and helps the students to be more descriptive while discussing and explaining their world. Such activities help in enhancing their visual, fine motor and linguistic skills.
