The students of Class III participated in an activity in which they made a working model of an anemometer. They learnt that an anemometer is a tool that is used to measure the speed of wind. The materials used were: scissors, cello tape, paper cups, push pins, play dough and drinking straws. With the guidance of the teachers, they completed the model and used it in the wind to see how it worked.
Our SAIoneers enjoyed the activity thoroughly. They asked questions about how an anemometer is used by meteorologists and shared various facts about how the wind affects weather. The activity was full of interaction and was very enjoyable.
