IIM CASE STUDY

World of Insects

“None of God’s creatures absolutely considered are in their own nature contemptible, the meanest fly, the poorest insect has its use and virtue.” –Mary Astell

Travel stories teach Geography and insects stories lead the child into natural sciences. Creepy crawly things are always very interesting for every child. Sometimes, it creates fear and sometimes it fascinates them. To understand the world of insects, our students of Class I were taken into the virtual world of insects, where they came to know about various insects found in our surroundings and how they are helpful or harmful for us. They learnt about their body structure through activities which included drawing the insects and naming their body parts . They got to know about the interesting facts,  that all the insects have six legs and have compound eyes. Sometimes we get confused between scorpions and spiders being insects. But our little ones have the knowledge that although they look like insects, in reality they are not as they have eight legs.

Everytime our students learn something interesting like this, they tend to develop more curiosity and understand the topic better.  The topic was very interesting and fascinating for our SAIoneers and gave them an insight into the world of Insects.
