“Mathematics is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of the human spirit.” – Stefan Banach
Excelomatics club of SAI Angan strengthens children’s knowledge and understanding of Mathematics. It provides them with opportunities to experiment and know Maths. It also helps children apply their mathematical skills to real-life situations.
In the Club classes held on Saturday, October 3, 2020, Class I children enjoyed playing balloon hover game, using different 3-D shapes like cone, sphere and cylinder to make it. It is an educational toy that stimulates children’s imagination and problem-solving skills while having fun at the same time.
The Members of Classes II and III played cross number puzzle game. It is a puzzle similar to a crossword in structure, but with entries that consist of numbers rather than words, with individual digits being entered in the blank cells. Number puzzles help children to grasp diverse mathematical concepts and also develop strategic thinking. It allows children to work at their own level and improve learning.
Earlier during their weekly club classes held on Saturday, September 26, 2020, the Class I members enjoyed playing the Tic Tac Toe game. This game helps to develop coordination, fine motor skills and visual skills. It helps children learn how to follow rules and take turns, as well as prepares them for more complex games. It allows kids to think of multiple things at one time. By encouraging logical thinking, tic-tac-toe helps children to develop their spatial skills.
The members of Classes II and III made Rangometry designs. Rangometry is a fun learning activity and children made designs by joining various geometrical shapes with similar vertices together without the pieces overlapping each other. This helped children identify with a sense of space which is important to understand concepts of Trigonometry, Geometry etc. Children can make hundreds or floor designs or rangoli by joining various shapes keeping them constructively busy and away from technology.
