Challenges are a great way for the students to bring engineering into their classroom! Simple things or objects when used creatively can create wonders. Students with all abilities can be successful there are many different ways to create with such simple supplies.
During the weekly club class held on Saturday, September 12, 2020, kids of Class I made wonderful designs by using simple shapes like squares and circles. These shapes were folded in various patterns and cut. These were used to make the designs. Kids of Classes II and III had a blast by simply exploring the materials and it was a great activity for hand-eye coordination too. After they have had a chance to experiment with building, they also extended the activity with these fun engineering challenges!
In the club classes held on Saturday, September 19, 2020, children made wonderful dice of their own by using simple shapes like squares. They have also learnt that when we add the number on the opposite side of the dice the number comes to seven. Kids of Classes II and III enjoyed a new game by finding the value of their name by using snake and ladder. This game included all the mathematical operations which helped the children to understand the relationship between the different operations.
