Excelomatics Club – Mental Maths

“Without mathematics, there’s nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers.” – Shakuntala Devi

The Class I members of Excelomatics Club prepared an addition chart during their club activity on Saturday, July 18, 2020. They utilised all the facts of addition and number combination to make the chart. It was made in the form of a number grid in which they added the numbers and completed the grid. This addition chart is another form of mental maths.

Mental math is about manipulating what you are able to quickly recall to calculate a given problem. It allows the brain to recall memorized math facts instantly to calculate the given problem. It makes our brain sharp and boosts learning. Mental math also helps in improving concentration, stimulates the interest of children in math, strengthens problem-solving abilities and builds self-confidence.
