The e-Summer Camp of SAI International which is held from June 1 to 14 is indeed rejuvenating, energising and enriching for students and parents as well. The gamut of interesting and interactive activities brings forth an abundance of joy, wisdom and a spirit of positivity in the students.
The participants of Class II are having their own share of fun. The activities commenced with students learning to make a double layer chocolate and orange cake during the Master Chef session. Adding to it, the children got an idea on how to prepare a perfect fruit salad. Then came the time for some songs, where kids got to sing an apt song meant for them, ‘chota bacha janke mujhko’, synchronising it with the tunes of harmonium and rhythmic claps.
On day II, the participants danced to the tunes of a musical symphony of folk music. They had a wonderful time learning traditional steps of various folk dances from South India. Next was the time for drawing scenery with the help of colourful sketch pens, giving the right effects with line paintings, which was an altogether a new experience for the students. On day III kids created a beautiful garden out of paper during their session on Origami. It was adorned with colourful flowers with stems and leaves. Their creativity continued with making masks using chart papers.
Next day, the participants learnt to create clay elephant. Later they had an energetic session on Zumba. They also made hanging photo frame by using ice cream sticks, continuing with a session on folk dance which was highly enjoyed by the participants. On the 6th day, kids had a Zumba session to keep themselves fit and then went on to make a healthy tiranga sandwich with mayonnaise, tomato sauce and green chutney as well as banana smoothie.
On day VII, kids had a session on Science Magic where they learnt to make some sound making toys, based upon scientific principles. The Resource Person also explained the principles behind it. On the following day, kids had a session on paper craft, making flowers with stems and leaves. In the next session, they learnt to make a dreamcatcher with old bangles, wool and feathers.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, kids listened with rapt attention, the popular story of the lion and the mouse. The Resource persons focussed on four aspects of storytelling like voice modulation, facial expression, dialogue and the use of props, guiding the students on how to make storytelling better by using all these elements. Next the children showcased their skills by delivering dialogues from their favourite cartoon serials like Shiva, Oggy and the cockroaches, etc. Some of the kids even delivered dialogues from movies using props while narrating. They also had a session on Nail Painting, where kids learnt how to beautify their nail with creative use of nail polish. On Thursday, kids had a session on Paper Collage, where children learnt how to make beautiful vases and colourful flowers of different shapes and sizes. They also had a session on folk dance. Students learnt various traditional steps on a beautifully created music, which had the typical folk flavours of various parts of the country.
