Preposition in the Lap of Nature

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” —  Albert Einstein

Learning in the lap of nature is a great fun. Teaching and learning process is not restricted to classrooms. The children of KG 2 were taught positional words to describe the position of the objects by using the appropriate terms like in on, over, under, between, in front, behind, beside etc. on July 26, 2019. They were taken out to the garden and in a playful manner where they were encouraged to frame simple sentences using the above prepositions. They were given situations wherein they could understand the proper usage of positional words. They were encouraged to understand the words by standing under the tree, hiding behind the rocks, sitting in the toy house, standing in front of the toy train and so on. These experiential learnings will keep a mark in their minds forever. Children enjoyed this activity with their peers which enhanced their peer bonding, vocabulary, interpersonal, linguistic, naturalistic, kinesthetic and visual skills.
