“Indian Classical Music and Dance are not just for entertainment, they are deisgned to elevate your consciousness.” YoMona

India is a land of cultural diversity with amazing traditions, different festivals and dance forms which reflect its cultural richness. Each state and region offer a glimpse to its local culture, customs and traditions. Like other Indian states, the dance forms of Odisha are also extremely vibrant.

Sambalpuri dance, a folkloric dance form, owes its origin to the western part of Odisha, particularly the erstwhile Sambalpur district of Odisha. This place is known for its sculpturesque, Odissi dance form. Deriving its name from the presiding deity of ‘Samalai’, Sambalpur has a distinct cultural identity of its own.

The members of the Rhythm Club dressed up in colourful Sambalpuri attire, performed the Sambalpuri folk dance on a foot tapping Sambalpuri song. They showcased the daily activities and rituals of the people.

The audience present in the SAI Angan auditorium enjoyed the dance and applauded the performance. RJ Sri Harsha and RJ Gatik from the Radio Orange Club hoisted the show with grace and confidence.
