“What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour, comfort, lessons in life. And, most importantly, cookies.” – Rudolph Giuliani
Grandparents are the biggest boon of God. It’s a great blessing to have grandparents around us, who not only spill pearls of wisdom but also fill our lives with abundance of love and care. The feeling of being around them cannot be described through words. Grandparents share a special bond with their grandchildren.
To make students of KG II understand the importance of grandparents in their life a small activity was conducted. Students were given resources like ice-cream sticks, glue, chart paper, glitter and ribbons to prepare a photo frame. Children prepared their own photo frame and drew the images of their grandparents on a post card sized chart paper. They took their artistic creation home to show off their creativity and their love for their grandparents.
This activity developed their fine motor skills, visual intelligence as well as helped in developing a sense of pride and security to have grandparents in their life.
