IIM CASE STUDY

Present Continuous Tense

Fun activities are a vital part of teaching English. They liven up the lesson and increase the understanding level of the students. One such activity was conducted for the students of Class III, where the children learnt about Present Continuous Tense with lots of fun.

The activity started with the students taking a round of the school. They were asked to observe everything that was happening around them. After coming back to the classroom, they were asked to recall all that they observed.

The children were given strips of chart paper and asked to write at least one sentence about their observation. After this, they presented their observation in groups followed by a brain storming session. This activity helped them to learn that present continuous tense is used for actions happening now and is continuing for a certain period of time or for an action that is unfinished.
