“Junk food satisfies you for a minute. Being fit, satisfies you for life.” – Anonymous

It is an age-old war between healthy food and unhealthy food. When it comes to choosing between unhealthy food vs. healthy food, junk food has always won the race!

Healthy diet can have a profound effect on the health of children, helping them to stabilize their energy and sharpen their mind. It helps in their emotional well-being and in healthy growth and development into adulthood. Children need to be introduced to wholesome, nutritious choices from early years so as to develop a healthy relationship with food that can last a lifetime.

Children of KG I were taught the difference between the healthy and unhealthy food through some activities. Students got to understand that the tasty and tangy taste of fast food simply adds to their body weight, without catering much to the nutritional needs of the body. They were thoroughly explained on the benefits of fruits and vegetables.

They were given cut-outs of healthy and unhealthy food items and asked to paste those on separate chart papers. They were also shown an interesting demonstration on how milk is converted to butter by churning, which they enjoyed a lot. In this way they developed their interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic, visual and fine motor skills.
