“The Sun does not shine for a few trees and flowers, but for the wide world’s joy.” – Henry Ward Beecher
The Sun is a huge star at the centre of the Solar System. All Planets orbit around it including Earth, where we all reside. It may be one of the millions of Stars in the Solar System, but for us, it is the very source of life. Without the Sun, there would be absolutely no life on this planet. It is considered as Head of the family of which our Earth is a member.
The Playgroup children were introduced to the Sun with the help of e-resources and picture cards as well as through an activity. The activity involved making of a Sun with cut outs and yellow poster colours to paint. This is one of the ways which helps in enhancing the fine motor and naturalistic skills in children.
