“The way you eat is a reflection of the respect you have for yourself.” – Pure Ella
Our choice of food impacts our health. Good nutrition enables us to lead a healthy lifestyle. By making smart food choices, we can protect ourselves from various health problems. Proper diet habits established in childhood is often carried up to adulthood, so teaching children how to eat healthy food at young age helps them to understand and imbibe the importance of healthy eating, whereby leading them to stay healthy throughout their life.
The Playgroup children were introduced to healthy food habits through an activity of making sandwiches using carrot, cucumber, cheese, yogurt and brown bread. The teacher demonstrated the process of making sandwiches with the mentioned items and served those to the children. Everyone enjoyed the sandwiches very much saying ‘yummy’ and ‘tasty’. This activity enhanced their naturalistic skills, inter and intra personal skills and also helped them to learn about the table manners.
