“Heritage is not just what we inherit, but what we understand and cherish.” – Anonymous
On November 6, 2025, our curious KG II SAIoneers embarked on a delightful learning journey to the Odisha State Tribal Museum, where they immersed themselves in the fascinating world of Odisha’s tribal heritage. This educational trip opened a window into the vibrant traditions, artistry, and lifestyle of the tribal communities that form an integral part of our state’s cultural identity.
The little explorers were captivated by the life-size models of tribal homes, which gave them a glimpse into the simplicity and beauty of life close to nature. They marvelled at the colourful artwork, intricate jewellery, and traditional costumes that reflected the creativity and craftsmanship of the tribal people. Each exhibit told a story — one of harmony with nature, sustainable living, and deep-rooted traditions passed down through generations. A highlight of the visit was the interactive video wall, which showcased how tribal communities depend on and protect their natural surroundings. The children watched with wonder as they learned how these communities gather food from forests, make tools from natural materials, and celebrate the rhythm of life through dance and art.
The trip was not only an eye-opening educational experience but also a day filled with fun, friendship, and exploration. It inspired our young learners to appreciate the diversity and cultural richness that make Odisha so unique. As the children returned with smiles and stories to share, they carried with them a deeper understanding of how beautifully nature and culture intertwine — a lesson that will stay in their hearts for years to come.
