“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” – Aristotle
At SAI Angan, we believe that learning goes beyond textbooks and classrooms; it’s about building character, developing empathy, and nurturing leadership. The beginning of the new academic session was marked by a vibrant and value-driven 5-day class I assembly, thoughtfully designed to inspire young minds and set a purposeful tone for the year ahead.
Day 1 – Sign Language: Learning to Include
The week began with a focus on Sign Language, a crucial step toward creating a more inclusive and understanding world. Students eagerly learned how to express “welcome” and “thank you” through sign language, fostering awareness and empathy for the hearing-impaired community. This simple yet powerful act of learning showed how small efforts can lead to big changes in making the world a better place for everyone.
Day 2 – Poet: Celebrating the Power of Words
Day two paid homage to the poets and poetry that enrich our lives. Students shone a spotlight on great poets from around the world, acknowledging how poetry adds depth, emotion, and rhythm to learning. By sharing powerful verses and stories of poetic brilliance, they discovered how creativity through words can connect hearts and minds across cultures.
Day 3 – Round Square Heroes: A Moral Compass
Midweek, the assembly highlighted Round Square Heroes, focusing on the core values of compassion and kindness. Students reflected on inspiring personalities and stories that embodied these values, reinforcing the importance of treating others with empathy and standing up for what’s right. It was a beautiful moral beginning to a year that aims to build thoughtful and caring individuals.
Day 4 – Leader in Me: Habit 1 – Be Proactive
The fourth day introduced students to the first habit from The Leader in Me series — “Be Proactive.” Through engaging presentations, students learned the importance of taking responsibility for their actions, choices, and emotions.
Day 5 – Concluding with Compassion
The final day of the assembly wrapped up the week with a message that echoed in every heart: “Let’s make this world a better place by showing compassion towards humans and animals.” Students shared reflections and creative expressions that encouraged kindness to all living beings. It was a fitting conclusion to a week filled with inspiration, learning, and heart.
