“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn.” – Benjamin Franklin
On January 22, 2025, the vibrant classrooms of KG I at SAI Angan came alive as young learners delved into the concept of “wholes and halves” through engaging, hands-on activities. Designed to ignite curiosity and promote practical understanding, the session seamlessly blended logical thinking with creative exploration.
Interactive Learning Through Real-Life Examples
The children explored dividing objects into two equal parts by folding, using familiar items such as rotis, bread slices, and puris. This activity not only introduced them to the concept of fair division but also honed their logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. The hands-on approach allowed the young learners to connect abstract ideas with real-world applications, creating a memorable learning experience.
Crafting Creativity with Tulips and Watermelons
To add a creative touch to their exploration, the students crafted delightful scrapbooks adorned with tulips, cookies, and watermelon slices. This activity was more than just fun—it encouraged visual learning, fine motor skill development, and imaginative expression. The vibrant scrapbooks reflected the children’s understanding of “wholes and halves” in a visually engaging manner.
Fostering Foundational Skills for the 21st Century
Through these activities, the students developed essential skills such as collaboration, interpersonal communication, and attention to detail. The session emphasized critical 21st-century competencies, ensuring that learning was not only enjoyable but also impactful.
At SAI Angan, we believe in nurturing young minds with creative, practical, and interactive approaches to education. By embedding foundational concepts into fun and meaningful experiences, we aim to build a strong base for lifelong learning.
