IIM CASE STUDY

Let’s use Demonstrative Pronouns

The words this, that, these and those, used in daily language took a different dimension for students of Class – II during an activity session, where the little ones were introduced to the term Demonstrative pronoun.

The class was divided into groups of four each and was given activity cards with the four mentioned demonstrative pronouns. They were asked to make sentences with the four pronouns. Students had a wonderful time trying to frame different sentences.

During the activity they were explained the basic difference between this/these and that/those like, this and these are used for nouns close to a person and that and those for nouns away from a person. They also learnt that, this and that are used for one noun and these and those for more than one noun.

Through this activity children not only understood the concept and the application of demonstrative pronoun, but also enhanced their linguistic, inter & intra personal skills.
