Little Chefs in the Making: KG-I Learners Explore Healthy Eating through Salad Making

“Teaching kids about food is one of the most important things we can do. It’s crucial for their own health and well-being.” Jamie Oliver

At SAI Angan, our KG I students recently embarked on a delightful journey to explore the different foods that come from plants. This hands-on activity involved making salads, allowing each child to create their own fusion of healthy ingredients.

The activity began with an introduction to various plant-based foods, sparking curiosity and excitement among the young learners. Equipped with bowls and an array of fresh ingredients, the students eagerly assembled their salads, mixing vegetables and fruits with enthusiasm.

This engaging activity was more than just fun; it played a crucial role in boosting the children’s confidence and awareness of healthy eating habits. As they shared their creations with friends and members of the school community, the students experienced the joy of social interaction and collaboration.

Through this experience, the children developed essential interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, laying the foundation for lifelong healthy habits and a love for nature’s bounty. The smiles and pride on their faces as they enjoyed their self-made salads were truly heartwarming.
